Chase Hudson Twitter

Bryce and Chase's Twitter War. Although Chase's TikTok video made it seem like the three were back on good terms, Bryce stirred things up on Twitter come April 3. You see, Chase had acknowledged the cheating rumors in a tweet that read, 'I love one woman. Do not tell lies.' Bryce felt otherwise, though, and replied: 'the only lie I see is this. Jul 07, 2020 Chase Hudson Tried to Deny Cheating on Charli D’Amelio and She Shut Him TF Down This is the messiest Twitter exchange I’ve ever seen. By Mehera Bonner.

Two of TikTok's biggest stars, Charli D'Amelio and Chase Hudson, aka Lil Huddy, were the 'it' couple of the virtual world throughout their short-lived romance. So how, exactly, did the two go from relationship goals to broken up in just a matter of months? It all started with TikTok, of course.

Charli's Beginning

16-year-old Charli D'Amelio began posting videos on TikTok in the summer of 2019, and was just as surprised as many when she began to blow up. Charli has been a dancer her whole life and began hopping on the viral TikTok dance trends, which helped her become the most followed person on the platform with over 50M followers.

Charli signed with United Talent Agency in January 2020, and has quickly become one of the world's youngest and most popular influencers. Her older sister, Dixie, is also a popular TikToker and content creator. Some of her best friends include influencers Avani Gregg and Madi Monroe.

Chase's Start

18-year-old Chase, better known by his nickname Lil Huddy, grew up in California and gained fame on TikTok when he began posting videos of him lip-syncing to popular songs. Chase began a YouTube channel in 2018 that now boasts 1.1M subscribers.

Chase began his friendship with Thomas Petrou in 2019 and the two began collaborating on photoshoots. In late 2019, Thomas, Chase, and fellow content creator Daisy Keech banded together to become co-founders of The Hype House. Chase is well-known for his floppy head of hair and his intricate fashion sense.

Chase's Former GF

Before getting together with Charli, Chase was actually dating fellow TikToker Cynthia Parker. They went Insta-official in April 2019 and, of course, appeared in some TikTok videos together. All seemed nice and dandy between the two, but it didn't last long.

They dated for 3 months before they both announced on Twitter that they had split up. 'Love the gal to death, but things just haven't been working out. I hope y'all understand,' Chase wrote. Cynthia emotionally replied, 'puts me in the worst pain, not being able to call you mine anymore.'

Charli and Chase Heat Up

Bandai namco twitter. Meanwhile, in Fall 2019, Charli was gaining millions of followers on TikTok every day. In only a matter of time, she started teaming up with other famous TikTokers who'd later make up the 'Hype House,' the infamous L.A home to many of the platform's biggest stars. Charli and Chase began posting very flirty videos, and the speculation began.

Fans immediately began to suspect the two were dating, but they both remained quiet on social media and didn't confirm any of the rumors. During this time, Chase was in the midst of locking down deals for The Hype House, which Charli would later become a part of.

Charli and Chase Become Instagram Official

Finally, Charli fueled the flames by posting two cute photos with Chase on Instagram, in matching outfits mind you, but the caption was confusing: 'Best friend things,' she'd wrote. Their fans definitely didn't buy it, and commenters went crazy speculating that they were dating.

It's no surprise that the post racked up over 1.5M likes - Charli's most likes ever at the time. Just 3 days later, however, the two of them posted photos together, only this time, with Chase hugging Charli. Charli left her post caption-less, but Chase captioned his with a heart emoji.

Spotted Together

As the plot thickened, the pair soon got paparazzi-d while walking through Target, hand-in-hand. The photo got reposted all over the internet, as did a video of the two of them kissing at a New Year's Eve party. The two of them had officially become TikTok's newest and biggest couple.

The two were definitely exclusive at this point, as Chase soon posted a photo with Charli, saying, 'can't take my eyes off you.' In fact, on Valentine's Day, Charli posted a photo of them kissing, writing, 'Happy Valentine's Day, beb.' Chase shared his own V-Day post, as well, saying, 'you make me the happiest boy in the world.'

They Gush To Entertainment Weekly

It was only a matter of time before Chase spoke out about his new relationship with Entertainment Weekly, saying, 'It's exclusive, we're not talking to anyone else. We really like each other, we just don't wanna put a label on it yet. I told her I wanna take my time and make sure everything's right for me before I make it official.'

Chase admitted to ET that he was first attracted to her shyness, saying, 'It was really, really cute. Like when I first went on our first few dates, there was something different about her…People say that everyone's different, but not that many people have her personality and I think it really stands out.'

Chase Accused of Cheating

Unfortunately, while it was all was going smoothly for Charli and Chase, a few months later, they'd be plagued with scandal: seemingly out of the blue, cheating allegations were brought up, courtesy of fellow TikTok stars, Josh Richards and Bryce Hall.

Ironically enough, Josh Richards, too, was dating a TikTok star. In fact, he was coupled up with TikToker, Nessa Barrett, and the online world couldn't get enough of them. He and Bryce happened to be a part of 'The Sway House,' another L.A. content-creator hub rumored to be the rival of The Hype House.

Josh Richards's Diss Track

So, what exactly did they say? In March, Nessa told Josh that Chase had been DMing her explicit photos. Chase apparently predicted Josh and Bryce's next move, as he wrote on March 12, '2020 predictions: some losers are gonna drop a diss track on me.' Sure enough, Josh and Bryce soon dropped a diss track exposing the entire scandal.

The video went viral, racking up over 15M views. Josh and Bryce definitely didn't go easy on Chase, with lines like, 'you still be f___ing with girls, telling people Charli's your world.' Josh and Bryce also recruited Chase's ex-girlfriend, Cynthia, to make a debut in the video.

Bryce's Explanation

On March 20, Bryce uploaded a video to his YouTube channel called, 'Explaining the 'Still Softish' Diss Track on Lil Huddy,' where he and Josh explained every scene. Bryce revealed that one of the lines was referring to explicit photos that Chase sent to Nessa via Snapchat.

When they replayed the scene with Cynthia, Josh and Bryce got a little too excited, saying, 'That was a burn! We got your ex-girlfriend in the video wearing our merch.' Josh then said, 'Can we just take in that we put his ex and we talked about [Charli] in the same part.'

Josh and Bryce Explain Further

Ironically enough, Chase had unfollowed Josh, Bryce, and the Sway House on Instagram well before the diss track. But right before the track, Josh denied any feud between the Hype House and the Sway House, saying, 'There's no beef with Hype House. Everyone is making it this thing like, Hype House versus Sway House.'

On March 24, four days after the release of the diss track, Josh sent out a tweet explaining that the drama was now in the past, but that he and Chase weren't exactly friends anymore. 'We aren't boys like before, but we thought the most mature thing to do was to put the history behind us,' he wrote.

Josh Defends His Actions

Twitter

In fact, Josh followed up his explanation with a video to his channel, called, 'EXPLAINING MY BEEF WITH LIL HUDDY!!' where he implies that Chase did more than just D.M. Nessa. 'One of the articles said that Chase tried to D.M. Nessa, and that was it, and then I made a full-on diss track about it. Guys, I'm not that bad,' Josh hinted.

He then went on to say that Nick Austin, fellow TikToker and Hype House member, reached out to Josh on Chase's behalf to squash the beef. 'He was like, 'yo, Chase tried to FaceTime you, he doesn't have your new number. He wanted to reach out and settle things,' and I was like, 'you know what, that's mature.'

Josh and Chase Reconcile

It appeared that their beef was officially squashed. In fact, on March 24, Chase uploaded a TikTok with Josh and Bryce that was made in the Hype House. In the video, Chase jokes, 'I got one thing to say: f___ Sway House,' before laughing and playfully fighting with Josh.

The TikTok was made the very same night that Josh and Bryce went over to the Hype House to work things out with Chase. Hype House member, Alex Warren, even captured a behind-the-scenes video of their visit: Bryce had asked Chase when he'd drop his own diss track, to which Chase joked, 'I actually want to do real music.'

Bryce and Chase's Twitter War

Although Chase's TikTok video made it seem like the three were back on good terms, Bryce stirred things up on Twitter come April 3. You see, Chase had acknowledged the cheating rumors in a tweet that read, 'I love one woman. do not tell lies.' Bryce felt otherwise, though, and replied: 'the only lie I see is this tweet.'

But he wasn't done. Bryce continued with one more tweet, saying: 'Why would we make a whole diss-track to just spit lies? That kinda defeats the purpose of a 'diss' track.. otherwise, it would just be a lie-track.' Chase fired back by saying, 'they'll always paint me as the bad guy.'

Charli's Mom Reacts

Throughout all of this drama with Chase and Josh, it was unclear where Chase and Charli's relationship stood. In fact, Charli's mom wanted their relationship to be left alone. She even commented on Instagram account, @tiktokroom, asking people to leave Charli and Chase alone.

'No one but Charli and Chase knows what is going on with them! Everyone has decided they know what happened. How can anyone have these thoughts? They are horrible!! Please spread positivity!! Please!! Always!!' Charli's angered mom wrote.

Charli's Cryptic Tweets

On March 27, Charli re-tweeted two cryptic tweets, one reading, 'I miss what we could have been,' and the other reading, 'You will not heal by going back to what broke you.' Her 1.1M Twitter followers began to freak out, and her sister Dixie tweeted, 'CHARLI IS FINE, she's just soft.'

Charli also 'liked' several more suspicious tweets, reading, 'I never told u how much u hurt me,' 'I'm sorry for loving you too much,' and, 'I want to cry until it hurts no more.' 18-year-old Dixie tweeted, 'I'm so proud of Charli because the difference between me at 15 and her at 15 is actually insane.'

Chase Addresses The Rumors

But Chase, too, seemed fed up with the cheating rumors. He defended himself on his Instagram story, writing, 'I love one girl and one girl only. That is the facts, The Hype House has been so amazing for all of us, but there are so many problems other people cause for clout and their own benefit, and I don't want any part of it anymore.'

Chase Hudson Twitter Drama

'Everyone who really knows me will know I really do love this one and only person. Always have, and I always will. Nothing was fake or staged, and even if it was, trust me, it turned real. And to the girl I love, don't let anyone convince you otherwise - I love you baby, and you know it,' Chase continued.

Chase and Charli Officially Break Up

Despite Chase's public display of love and affection, the couple soon announced that they had split up. On April 13, Charli wrote on Instagram, 'I decided I need to tell you all that we are no longer together. We are still close friends, and I would not change that for anything! Breakups are tough for anyone, so I'd really rather not talk about it.'

Chase Hudson Tweet About Ness

Chase, too, made a statement on his Instagram, writing, 'Charli is such an amazing person, and I am so beyond grateful.. to have spent the time I spent with her. She will always hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life. We are sorry it's taken so long to come forward, but this was something we wanted to process privately first.'

Josh and Bryce React to the Breakup

Consequently, Bryce and Josh did a skype call with The Zach Sang Show on April 17 and dished their thoughts about Charli and Chase's breakup. When asked if the relationship was real or just for fame, they replied, 'No, it was definitely real. We know them, and we know Charli. I'm cool with her.'

The two continued on to say that Chase was not a good boyfriend to Charli: 'Charli's so nice. We thought the way he was treating her was complete s___. And she's so young, so she doesn't know what 'complete s___ really feels like,' Bryce said. 'I'm not trying to talk too much s__ on Chase, but he was being.. he was not a good boy for her.'

Post-Breakup

Charli and Chase both seem to be doing well post-breakup, despite everything. Charli and her family announced that a reality TV show may be in the works, and Chase is back to posting pics on Instagram and updating his Snapchat followers.

Chase Hudson Age

Charli seems happier than ever, quarantining with her family in Connecticut and dancing away on TikTok. Charli has been working with her sister Dixie to help raise money during these tough times and also recently began uploading vlogs to YouTube and Instagram.
